Togo national team captain Richard Yendoutie Nane has picked positives from the Total African Nations Championship (CHAN) despite the team’s failure to qualify to quarters.

The Sparrowhawks failed to qualify to the knockout stage of the tournament that is still going on in Cameroon.

According to the 26-year-old Yendoutie Nane, CHAN has been a very good platform for them to get exposure and show their talent.

“We are sad that the team failed to make it to the knockout stage. But we are glad we have got the exposure playing in our first CHAN tournament,” Yendoutie Nane said before adding.

“This exposure we have picked from playing at CHAN will motivate us to work harder to try and qualify for other international tournaments,” he added.

Togo started their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to defending champions Morocco, before recovering to stun Uganda Cranes 2-1 in the next game.

However they lost 3-2 to Rwanda in their last Group C match played on Tuesday at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium.
