Arsenal has today confirmed the signing of former Chelsea winger Willian on a three-year deal ahead of the 2020/21 season. In addition, the 32-year-old has a lot of experience and he has also made more than 600 club appearances in his career of 13 seasons.
The Brazilian started his career in Brazil at Corinthians before he joined Shakhtar Donestk in August in 2007. Meanwhile, the Brazilian international spent six years at Shakhtar Donestic and he won four Ukrainian Premier League titles and UEFA cup in 2009. He then joined Anzhi Makhachkala before he signed the North London club (Chelsea) where he won the Premier League and League cup in his second season in England.
The 32-year old won 2 premier league titles, an FA Cup and the Europa League throughout his 7 years at Chelsea. Willian made 339 appearances with 63 goals and 56 assists in that time.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta however believes Willian can still have a good time at Arsenal and he is not to prove anyone. In addition, because the Arsenal manager believes the Brazilian has already performer in England and elsewhere. Therefore he is delighted to have such an experienced player on to his squad to challenge for the title in 2020/21 season.
Willian will wear shirt number 12 at Arsenal.
