Samia Suluhu Hassan is a CCM politician and the vice president of Tanzania. She was born on 27 January 1960 in the Sultanate of Zanzibar. She attended the Institute of Development Management where she graduated with a diploma in public administration.
Between 1992 and 1994, she attended the University of Manchester and graduated with a postgraduate Diploma in economics. According to credible sources of information, Suluhu is due to be sworn into office as the next president of Tanzania following the death of President John Pombe Magufuli on 17th March 2021. This, therefore, means that she will become the first female president in the whole of the East African region.
Samia Suluhu Hassan also became Tanzania’s first-ever female vice-president following the 2015 General election… In addition, after she was voted on the CCM ticket/card along with president John Pombe Magufuli.
However, before she became vice-president, Suluhu served as a member of Parliament for Makunduchi constituency from 2010-2015. Samia Suluhu Hassan was also the State Minister for Union Affairs from 2010-2015.
Samia got married in 1978 to Hafidh Ameir who is currently a retired agricultural officer. The couple is blessed with four children.
