The Uganda People’s Defence Forces(UPDF) have finally given some details about the former National Unity Platform boss, Mr. Moses Kibalama, whose home has been heavily guarded by security personnel since he reportedly went missing on Monday.
Speaking at Uganda Media Center, UPDF spokesperson, Flavia Byekwaso, told a journalist that the deployment of security agencies was for a good reason.
“The citing of soldiers or police or any other (security agencies) at his premises, I know is for a good reason,” she said.
According to Byekwaso, the move followed intelligence reports about threats to his life and premises
“There were intelligence reports that indicated threats to his life but also indicated planned violence to his premises,” UPDF spokesperson said.
Commenting about his whereabouts, Byekwaso said security is holding him for good reasons but most importantly is also safe to afford him or give him maximum security.

She however distanced the “mainstream UPDF” from Kibalama’s incident.
“Mainstream stream UPDF is not responsible for Mr. Kibalama and has not done any action against Kibalama or his associates,” she said.
On Thursday, Mr. Kibalama appeared in a video that went viral on social media accusing Bobi Wine of failing to fulfill a pledge to pay him five million dollars for the party ownership a claim Bobi Wine dismissed in a statement saying it should be treated with contempt.
