Coronavirus Cases in Uganda Cross 5000 Mark

Uganda’s cumulative Coronavirus cases have crossed the 5,000 marks after today’s rise by 145 bringing the country’s confirmed cases to 5,123.

The ministry of health has also registered two COVID-19 deaths from Jinja and Kampala. This brings the country’s total COVID-19 fatalities to 58.

Among the 145 new cases of coronavirus that have been confirmed today, 103 are contacts, 25 are alerts while 17 are returnees from South Sudan(10) and India (7).

Pader had 52 of the 128 contacts and alerts that tested positive for coronavirus. Therefore this is the highest from today’s confirmed cases. The remaining cases were from Kampala(11), Lamwo(9), Amuru (7), Gulu(8), Mbale (8). In addition, and Lira(6), Omoro (4), Kikuube (3), Namayingo(3), Uganda (2), Oyam (4), Nwoya(2).

Arua, Bududa, Jinja Kapchorwa, Kiryandongo, Kisoro, Ngora, Wakiso, and Zombo had one case of COVID-19 each.

Today’s results were from the 2,003 samples that were tested for COVID-19 as Uganda’s cumulative samples tested since the COVID-19 outbreak reached 436,246.

According to the ministry of health, the country’s cumulative COVID-19 recoveries are now at 2,333.
