The ministry of health has recorded two new COVID-19 fatalities bringing the total number of fatalities to 35.
The two new deaths the ministry of health registered today, are both Ugandan females aged 57 and 69 years and residents of Kampala.
On the other hand, the ministry of health has also confirmed 65 coronavirus cases. This brings the country’s cumulative confirmed cases to 3,353.
Today’s confirmed cases include 60 contacts and alerts, 3 truck drivers, and two health workers from Nwoya and Wakiso.
Among the 60 contacts and alerts that tested positive for COVID-19, 44 are from Kampala, 6 from Gulu, 3 from Buikwe, 2 from Mukono, while Busia, Luwero, Nakapiripirit, Nyowa and Wakiso had one case each.

The three truck drivers that tested positive for COVID-19 were from Busia, Mpondwe and Vurra border points.
Five foreign truck drivers also tested positive for COVID-19 at the different border points of entry and were not allowed to enter the country.
Meanwhile, the country has registered 1,564 recoveries since the country confirmed its first COVID-19 case in March.
