Uganda records 4 deaths and 186 New COVID-19 Cases

The cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 3,539 after the ministry of health registering 186 new coronavirus cases on Saturday. The ministry of health has also recorded 4 deaths bringing the total number of the county’s COVID-19 fatalities to 39.

The fatalities are a 51 year male from Kanungu District, a 56 year old male from Kampala, a 79 year old female from Wakiso and a 60 year old male from Kampala.

Of the 186 new confirmed cases, 176 are from contacts and alerts, seven health workers and three truck drivers from Malaba(2) and Elegu border points of entry.

The 176 contacts and alerts are from Kampala (81), Gulu (33), Pader (15), Kapchorwa (9), Mukono (6), Kiryandongo (5), Mbale (5), Buikwe (3), Lamwo (3), Bududa (2), Iganga (2), Wakiso (2), Arua (1), Butalejja (1), Buvuma (1), Kanungu (1), Kibuku (1), Kukuube (1), Kitgum (1), Kyegegwa (1), Lira (1), Nebbi(1).

Coronavirus Update: Uganda Confirms 75 New Cases

Seven health workers from Jinja, Gulu, Lamwo, Kitgum, Mbale, Lira, Iganga also tested positive for COVID-19.

Additionally, 11 truck drivers were denied further entry into the country when they tested positive for coronavirus at the different border points of entry.

Meanwhile, the country’s cumulative recoveries from the virus are 1,608, according to the ministry of health.
