The ministry of health has recorded 145 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday. The country’s death toll has also reached 98 following one Covid-19 death in Jinja.
The results are from the COVID-19 tests done on 20 October 2020. This brings the country’s cumulative confirmed cases to 10,933.
The 145 new coronavirus cases include 143 contacts and alerts and two truck drivers.
Of the 143 contacts and alerts that tested positive for coronavirus, 56 were from Kampala, 24 were from Obongi (24), Moyo (14), Lira (13), Buikwe (10), Iganga (5), Jinja (5), Dokolo (3), Bushenyi (2), Mbale (2) and Mukono (2),
Arua, Buvuma, Kisoro, Luwero, Maracha, Ntungamo and Soroti recorded one case each.

All the 2 truck drivers that tested positive for coronavirus were from Malaba Point of Entry.
To date, Uganda has registered 7,154 coronavirus recoveries since the country registered its first Covid-19 case in March.
