England’s bid for a first trophy since 1966 is set to be affected by the incredible form of Premier League teams in Europe.

The Three Lions will compete in the UEFA Nations League finals this summer in Portugal after topping their group with Croatia and Spain.

Gareth Southgate’s side will face the Netherlands in their semi-final, just five days after Liverpool take on Tottenham in the Champions League final.

The other semi-final sees Portugal play Switzerland, the day before England face the Netherlands.

Arsenal and Chelsea’s progression to the Europa League final could also have an impact, although that fixture is eight days prior to the start of England’s Nations League campaign.

Liverpool and Spurs collectively have 13 players who could be involved in the Nations League semi-finals, with 10 of those potentially in England’s squad.
