Today’s Update – Uganda Confirms 146 New COVID-19 Cases

Today’s Update – The ministry of health has registered 146 new cases on Friday. This brings the country’s cumulative confirmed cases to 7,364.

According to the ministry of health, these results are from COVID-19 tests done on 25 September 2020.

COVID-19 Today’s Update cases include 133 contacts and alerts, seven truck drivers, and six returnees.


Among the contacts and alerts that tested positive for COVID-19, 51 were from Kampala while the remaining were from Namisindwa (13), Arua (12), Mityana (10), Tororo (7), Busia (5), Kitgum (5), Mbale (5), Nwoya (5), Wakiso (5), Gulu (3), Bukwo (4), Jinja (2), Karenga (2), Lira (1), Luwero (1), Soroti (1) and Yumbe (1).

Uganda Registers Highest Number of Daily COVID-19 Cases of 423

Of the seven truck drivers, six were from Malaba while the one was from Busia border points of entry.

Six returnees including four from Saudi Arabia (4), one from Malawi and South Sudan also tested positive for coronavirus.

Currently, Uganda has registered 71 fatalities to the virus since registering the first death on 21st July, 2020.

Meanwhile, the country’s cumulative coronavirus recoveries are 3,647.
