Stanbic Bank Metro Branch closes as an employee tests COVID-19 positive

News reaching our Cyclone Times News desk confirms an employee from Stanbic Metro branch in Kampala has tested positive for COVID-19. Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited confirmed the news through their statement posted on their official social media platforms. According to the statement, Metro branch in Kampala has therefore been temporarily closed until further notice.

Stanbic Bank Uganda would like to inform the public that an employee at our Metro Branch in Kampala has tested positive for COVID-19. In addition, and is currently undergoing treatment. The branch staff are undergoing tests and have been self quarantined for 14 days.

While contact tracing and testing is underway, Stanbic Bank Metro branch has been temporarily closed for decontamination and will only be reopened with take over team once we have received a Disinfection Certificate from the Ministry of Health.

Customers are therefore encouraged to utilise our digital platforms including internet banking. USSD *290# and our Banking App where possible.

To access banking services within the metro area, customers can visit the stanbic Bank Branches at

  • Garden City Shopping Mall – Garden City Branch
  • Crested Towers – Corporate branch

We however appeal to all our customers and the general public to continue taking the right precautionary measures and observing the standard oerating procedures (SOPs) established by the Ministry of Health to curb the spread of the infections. Therefore protect our families and save lives.
