Safaricom closes TRM store after an employee tested positive for coronavirus

Safaricom Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Peter Ndegwa has today Sunday 31st May 2020 announced the temporary closure of the company’s store. In addition, this is located at the Thika Road Mall (TRM) however after one of the employees tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.

Safaricom CEO Mr. Peter Ndegwa also said the affected workers’ colleagues are currently receiving counseling and guidance for the novel coronavirus.

“We as Safaricom this morning received a notification that one of our very own staff members working at the Thika Road Mall had tested positive for coronavirus. Therefore we showed concern and had to suspend the company’s daily activities at the premises to ensure the safety of other employees. Meanwhile, the employee who tested positive for the deadly COVID-19 is currently under quarantine and as well as receiving appropriate medical attention.

“However, the other staff members who were working with the now affected employee have been informed. In addition, and are all undergoing serious counseling and testing to ensure their safety and better health conditions. We shall, therefore, have to fumigate the store and clean them before resuming work,” Safaricom CEO said.
