Pacquiao rejects Mayweather’s exhibition bout, insists he wants a rematch, real fight.
Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao, 40, a Filipino professional boxer and politician has rubbished Floyd Mayweather’s claim that the pair are negotiating an exhibition fight, he wants it to be “a real fight”
The Filipino legend, 40, lost on points to the American in a mega-money bout billed as “The Fight of the Century” back in Las Vegas on May 2015. Noted The Suns.
The retired ring legend, Floyd said: “What I’m working on right now is the Mayweather-Pacquiao exhibition right here in Tokyo. Stay tuned.” Quoted the Mirror website.
The pair met in the boxing ring way back in 2015 and Mayweather defeated Manny over 12 rounds.
Recently, Mayweather revealed on social media he is working on a rematch with Pac Man to be held in Tokyo, Japan.
The boxing champions have been in talks for a rematch but they have never come to an agreement to have it happen.
However, Pacquiao’s adviser Sean Gibbon slammed Floyd’s allegations: “All nonsense. I have no idea what my brother Floyd is up to.”
He told the PhilStar Global: “Why an exhibition? Make it a real fight.”
“Floyd is Floyd. He goes to the beat of his own drum.”
In the response, Mayweather blagged saying: “There is a video circulating that I made eight months ago about a Mayweather vs Pacquiao rematch.
“I got paid $2,200,000 to make the video. The truth is, the fight will never happen again.
“Now, look at the money that got wired to me for the video. Who’s the smart one? I’m making millions just for 10-second video drops.”
On Saturday 20th July 2019, night in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand, Pacquiao defeated Keith Thurman by split decision to become the unified WBA Super World Welterweight champion. The judges scored the fight 115-112×2 and 113-114.
Pacquiao’s legendary grows, and he is speaking with much vigor feeling he can really move Floyd.
If all comes in reality, we shall witness who is who.
