One time Bunya South Legislator, Jowali K Kyeyago dies of Covid-19

Jowali K Kyeyago who represented Bunya South in the 8th Parliament yesterday  lost his life to the deadly coronavirus.

It is assumed that the former Member of Parliament who was also diabetic had caught Covid-19 at a time when he was already nursing an illness that saw him get admitted at a private health facility in the central city of Kampala last month.

However, due to the fact that his family failed to attain a bed for him Kampalas’ Intensive Care Unit (ICU) they were forced to transfer him up Jinja based Nile International Hospital where he unfortunately lost the battle.

Basing on one of his family member, Abdullah Kagwa, he informed the media that the deceased had battle with the deadly virus for close to three weeks but no matter how much they tried,his condition only went from bad to worse.

Subsequently, one of his family members informed the media that upon the death of the former Parliamentary leader, medical personnel adviced each of the family to go into self isolation so as to limit on the spread of Covid-19.

Kyeyago shall be laid to rest today at his ancestral home in Kityerera sub county, Mayuge district.

He once served as the Parliamentary representative for Bunya South constituency, Mayuge district in between 2006-11. On second attempt to run for the political position in 2021, he lost to Iddi Isabirye.

Aside from the above, Kyeyago was once a former delegate in Uganda’s football Assembly, the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA).
