NUP councilor turns up for swearing-In chained, Cries to Museveni to release political prisoners

Kampala Central National Unity Platform (NUP) Councilor Moses Kataabu turns up for swearing in chained.

According to him, he was trying to remind the head of state to free political prisoners who were arrested during the election period and even the period prior to that. Kataabu demanded “Museveni free political prisoners.”

The said message was fastened around his neck with a placard with which the councilor ascended the steps to be sworn in as a councilor for Kampala Central.

Due to this occurrence, the city Lord Mayor, division Mayors, and division councilors’ scheduled swearing-in program had to be canceled as the chained councilor refused to take off the chain and placard despite the pleas from various people.

Both the resident City Commissioner Hud Hussein and the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate Ago Miriam Okello tried to conceive him to take off the chains and placards but in vain.
