What is the National Unity Platform (NUP)?
NUP is a political and social-liberal political party duly registered under the laws of Uganda. It’s a progressive, social democratic organization, guided by the principles of servant leadership, equality, transparency, accountability, freedom, liberty, and social justice.
Membership is open to all Ugandans aged 18 years ad above irrespective of their sex, color, religion, creed, ethnicity, or economic status. You acquire membership by entering your name into the Platform Membership register and issued with a membership card.
The Platform headquarters are located on Plot 1622/1623 along Kira Road (Kamwokya) in Kampala. The Platform also intends to open branch offices at different levels throughout the country.
As a political party, our mission every day is to rally the people of Uganda to exercise their power and build a free, united, prosperous, and democratic Uganda.
Our struggle and work are built on the following values for example Discipline, Reliability, Integrity, Inclusiveness, Fidelity, and Service.
The Vision of NUP is to build a free, united, Prosperous, and Democratic Uganda which empowers citizens. In addition, adheres to the rule of law ensures dignity and provides equal opportunities for all.
NUP Flag and Colors
The National Unity Platform has a distinctive flag comprising of colors red, white, and navy blue.
The symbol of the platform is an umbrella which signifies national unity. (Previously, the symbol was a white umbrella against a navy blue background, but we redesigned our symbol to reflect all platform colors. Red, white, and navy blue. However, the symbol in the new colors awaits approval and gazetting by the Electoral Commission.
