Mutyaba played his first game for the Red Eagles against Vipers SC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
According to Muzamiru Mutyaba, he is looking at building on his performance on the day going forward to help his team get better results.
“I am happy I made my debut, for me I felt I had a good show,” Muzamiru Mutyaba was quoted by the club’s official website.
“Vipers is a decent side but as a team, we were better on the day.”
“We are now working on converting as many chances in training because that is what we lacked.”
“Individually, I hope to perform better going forward because I believe we can still win silverware this season,” he added.
Muzamiru Mutyaba the game changer
Mutyaba came on for Mahad Yaya Kakooza in the 66th minute and he immediately stepped up the tempo of the game.
On a few occasions, he tried to break down the Vipers backline with forward George Ssenkaba’s miss standing out.
Muzamiru Mutyaba smartly crossed into the box for an incoming Ssenkaba.
However, he was a second late from tapping home the winning goal with about five minutes to full time.
During the match, the Red Eagles took the lead courtesy of Godfrey Lwesibawa.
However, the Venoms levelled matters through Abdul Karim Watambala’s free kick.
Express FC who sit 7th on the 16 team log with nine points from five games are one of three teams still unbeaten in the league.
They will face third placed URA FC on Sunday 14th February away in Ndejje at the Arena of Visions stadium in their next game.
Muzamiru Mutyaba’s main aim is to help Express FC win their first Uganda Premier League title since 2012.
