Museveni – Public Transport and Education centers to open on 4th, June

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today the 19th of May 2020 come out to clarify a few directives when they are supposed to operate. In addition, this followed after Ugandans were confused with the directives issued yesterday.

“On the issue of opening the markets – I want to clarify on this that the markets will start operating on the 26th of May 2020.

This is because we want to ensure the safety masks are readily available for all the people. However, those women who were sleeping in the markets can go home and come back. Meanwhile, this will only work if you keep a social distance of about 4 meters,” President Museveni said.

“On the issue of Public Transport – This will work within the 99 non-bordered districts from the 4th of June 2020 provided they keep a social distance. In addition, and have high-quality masks from the Ministry of Health. However, public transport in the bordered districts remains suspended for another 21 days,” president Museveni added.

“On the issue of private cars – private cars will be allowed to move on the 26th of May 2020. In addition, with a maximum number of only 3 people provided they keep a social distance of about 4 meters,” Museveni strongly said.

“On the Education sector – I want to clarify when the candidate classes, finalists at high institutions can resume. These will open on the 4th of June 2020 provided they observe a social distance and purchase high-quality masks.

“However, the bars, gyms, and other crowded places remain closed for another 21 days,” President Museveni said.
