Moses Magogo – Let’s protect the image of the game

Fufa president Moses Magogo has urged the clubs to do whatever they can, to protect the image of the game of football in the country.

The legendary Fufa president said this, during a season review meeting held at the FUFA Complex in Mengo, Kampala. 

During the meeting, several issues were raised ranging from club licensing, the communication gap between FUFA and the Clubs.

 The challenges that clubs face and their proposed stand in regard to the FUFA Competitions reforms were also raised as well.

However, in his address, Moses Magogo said that Fufa is open to positive criticism and welcomes all opinions but asked the clubs to protect the image of the game in the process.

“FUFA believes in dialogue and debate. It is okay for us to disagree,” Moses Magogo said before adding.

“We can come out to such meetings and fight but when we leave here, we must protect the image of the game.”

“We are open to criticism and it is only through dialogue that we can solve some of these challenges,” he added.

Fufa and clubs should solve problems as a family

In the same vein, FSLL board chairman, Arinaitwe Rugyendo asserted that Fufa and clubs must solve issues as a family but not in a negative way.

“We are here because we are family. Families that talk together, dialogue together and disagree on principle together, definitely stay together.”

“We are here to dialogue, to speak candidly about this brand and chat a way forward.”

“Where we have flexed muscles, we must reconcile, improve where there are challenges and forge a way forward for the betterment of the league,” Rugyendo noted.

Fufa was represented by FUFA President, Moses Magogo flanked first Vice-President Justus Mugisha, second Vice- President, Darius Mugoye, third Vice-President, Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi.

Others were Fufa Executive Committee Members Ronnie Kalema, Rogers Mulindwa, Rogers Byamukama.

Chris Kalibbala, Hamid Juma and FUFA CEO, Egdar Watson Ssuubi also attended the meeting.
