MOH confirms 7 new COVID-19 cases making it 30 now in Uganda

Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 7 new Covid-19 cases making it 30 cases overall in Uganda. The Ministry of health ran 225 samples and 218 samples were negative. However, the 7 samples tested positive for Covid-19 or Coronavirus. Therefore this call for the general public to stay vigilant about the communications passed out from the Ministry of Health.

What is COVID-19?

COVID-19 stands for Coronavirus disease in 2019. It is the pneumonia of an unknown cause detected in Wuhan in China. it was first reported to the WHO Country Office in China on 31 December 2019.

MOH has always advised all Ugandans to keep off unnecessary communications from unknown media platforms. In addition, to avoid a lot of panic within the people. This comes just hours after pastor Augustine Yiga criticized the fact that there is Covid-19 in Uganda and Africa as a whole. This kind of information can mislead the people of this great country and keep away from the preventive measures. Therefore as MOH, we shall do all we can to protect our population and their properties with the right information about COVID-19.

We call upon all NGOs to help and teach the people how to prevent the widespread of Coronavirus. MOH will continue to give in maximum and necessary support to make sure we get through this trying moment. We continue to also remind the public to avoid crowded places, for example, churches, conferences. In addition also, unnecessary gatherings, music concerts and so on and so forth.

High temperature, high fevers, cough, sneezing and running nose are the key signs and symptoms of Covid-19.
