The ministry of health has confirmed 128 new COVID-19 cases bringing the cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans to 3,667.
Today’s 128 new coronavirus cases were from 120 contacts and alerts, seven health workers, and a truck from Elegu border point of entry.
According to ministry of health, Out of the 128 contacts and alerts that tested positive for COVID-19, 95 were from Kampala, 13 were from Wakiso, three were from Luwero, two were from Nwoya while Amuru, Jinja, Kanungu, Manafwa, Marecha, Soroti and Zombo had one case each.
The seven health workers that tested positive for coronavirus were from Kampala with 2, Lira with two, Wakiso with two, and Mityana with one.
One from the truck driver of Rwandese nationality also positive for COVID-19 at Mirama Hills and his entry into the country was not permitted.
These results are from the 4,923 samples tested of which 284 were from points of Entry samples while the remaining 4,639 Samples were from contacts and alert.
Meanwhile, Uganda has registered 1,608 recoveries of COVID-19 and 39 fatalities to the virus of the 3,667 cases that have been confirmed since the country registered its first COVID-19 case in March.
