Dr. Mercy Mwangangi the Health Chief Administrative Secretary has today announced 127 new coronavirus cases of the deadly virus in Kenya. In addition, the total number of infections rising to 1745. However, the additional COVID-19 cases are from the 3831 samples which were tested in the last 24 hours.
“The high numbers of the COVID-19 cases are from the community and these are the people we have tested for the coronavirus,” Mercy Mwangangi said.
According to the results from the samples, Nairobi had the highest number of new cases with 76 cases, Mombasa had 19 cases. In addition, Busia had only 16 cases, Uasin Gishu had 8 cases, Kiambu had 2, Kajiado 5 and finally, one case came from Isiolo.
“We discharged 17 patients thus bringing the number of the total recoveries in Kenya to 438. However, 4 patients all from Mombasa succumbed to the deadly coronavirus thus bringing the total number of deaths to 62 in Kenya,” Mercy Mwangangi added.
