Makerere University has set 3rd October 3020 as the date for the resumption of teaching and learning activities of medical finalists which were halted following the closure of educational institutions in a bid to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
According to Makerere university’s Academic Registrar, Alfred Masikye-Namoah, students are required to report to the respective deans in the college of health sciences for detailed information.
”Note that you must strictly adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures put in place by the Ministry of Health to combat the spread of COVID-19 which include among others: •Mandatory wearing of a clean mask covering the mouth and nose, •Social distancing, •Washing of hands regularly and/or sanitizing hands” he said.

He further noted that the schedule of the remaining semester shall cover eight weeks of which five will be for learning, and teaching and three for examinations.
However, the State Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Judith Nabakooba, on Sunday said the mandate to guide the nation on the reopening of schools and other institutions is with the president.
