Hon Kyagulanyi Robert Sentamu yesterday unveiled Dr. Zedriga Lina Waru Abuku as the Deputy Leader of the People Power Movement.
“Comrade Zedriga is a distinguished activist, lawyer, and university lecturer. She is a retired judicial officer, author, and mentor. In addition, she is a social inclusion advocate and has participated in Uganda’s political processes for a very long time. Waru has borne the brunt of the regime’s excesses as will be communicated in due course,” Hon Kyagulanyi said.
“We are very excited to welcome her to the leadership of the People Power Movement. Aluta continua,” he added.

WHO IS DR. LINA ZEDRIGA WARU ABUKU?
She is the Deputy Leader of the People Power Movement in charge of Political Mobilization. In addition, she is a political leader with years of grassroots mobilization for political & social causes. DR. LINA ZEDRIGA is a seasoned mentor of leaders, especially women in politics. LINA ZEDRIGA was born on 8th September 1961 (aged 59). She is a mother of five and grandmother of four. LINA ZEDRIGA WARU ABUKU comes from Vura constituency, Arua District, Northern Uganda. However, her husband, Rauxen Zedriga who was Dr. Besigye’s chief coordinator in West-Nile was kidnapped and has been missing since August 2001
