KCCA FC midfielder Gift Ali believes that his side has the chance of retaining StarTimes Uganda Premier League as well as winning Stanbic Uganda Cup.
The Yellow Boys are on the course of retaining the league title after winning it last season.
Ali said that a double is possible for the Mike Mutebi coached KCCA FC after they knocked out Doves FC in Masindi to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Uganda Cup and said glory is possible this season.
“To be honest, we have a chance. We know we still have a chance. We have five games to play just like the log leaders and we just have to keep winning games and see what happens at the end,” Ali was quoted by the club’s official website www.kccafc.co.ug.
“We have the belief that we can still be Champions and we shall fight for the title till the very end,” he added.
KCCA FC is currently second on the StarTimes Uganda Premier League log with 50 points four points below log leaders Vipers.
About Stanbic Uganda Cup
The Kasasiro Boys are also chasing their 11th Uganda Cup title which they last won in 2018.
“We are taking it a game at a time. The way cup competitions are played is a little different from how you encounter the league. All that matters is the team progressing to the next round.”
“The team is into the quarter-finals and we shall wait to see who our opponent will be.”
“Cup success is among our objectives this season so we are not taking anything for granted,” he noted.
Gift Ali has been one of the outstanding players for KCCA FC this season especially in the middle of the park.
However, his side has been struggling for form this season after losing key players like Patrick Kaddu, Allan Kyambadde, Timothy Awany and Allan Okello.
