Once bitten, twice shy, Kalangwa Kalisa Moses has been given a knockout of Kayunga politics. This comes following the NRM Party primaries that saw her Daughter Birungi .K. Jackline lose the Kayunga Woman MP seat to Ms. Nalubwama Agatha whose a relative to Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala.
In a two horse race for the seat, Ms. Nalubwama Agatha was voted unanimously across the district with an aim of pushing Kalangwa allies out of the district. Much as she didn’t reach most of the places of the district, she was the only alternative in the party primaries since the Iron Lady of the District Hon. Idah Nantaba Erios rejected to participate in the party primaries since 2016 vowing not to seek for the party card until Mr. Kalangwa is no longer the Party District Chairman.
The race was characterized by voter bribery and intimidations from the high handed Kalangwa and Police that dines with Mr. Kalangwa. However this didn’t move the voters and still voted his daughter out hence making Ms. Nalubwama Agatha the winner of the election.
Having realized the loss earlier, Mr. Kalangwa’s Camp resorted to bribing the polling officers and agents of Ms. Nalubwama Agatha since most of these were self-appointed just to guard the votes of their candidate. In a Declaration form that made rounds on different social media platforms, it indicates Ms Agatha having obtained 141 votes out of 186 total number of voters and leaving Ms. Jackline with 45 votes but this was altered by adding a 7 to Jackline’s votes making it 457 votes but these forgot to change the total number of voters hence their forgery being identified.
It should be remembered that Mr. Kalangwa had just lost the NRM CEC Vice Chairperson (central region) seat to Hon. Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi and this loss left residents of Kayunga jubilating. So his daughter’s loss is evident that the residents are tired of his ill acts within the district.
When this fell in the ears of Gen. Katumba Wamala, he ordered for the deployment at the tally center and when chaos started, al polling materials was transferred to Kyadondo plat 13 at the NRM secreteriate where results were compiled and announced by the party election boss Dr. Tanga Odoi.
In other races with in the district, Mr. Matovu Swalik won the Bbaale MP Seat NRM flag bearer having battled with six other candidates that included former minister of the elderly Hon. Madada Suleiman who got 4,287 votes, the incumbent Hon. Nsamba Kumama who got 3,756 votes, Nabitaka Lillian being the only lady in the race became third with 2,940 votes followed by Wamala Micheal Tendo a former Police Officer under the directorate of Forensics who got 1,552 votes, Musisi Iga Jackson with 883 votes and lastly Aine Komugisha with 711 votes.

Ntenjeru South voted for the incumbent Hon. Fred Baseke and whereas Ntejeru North the incumbent Hon. Amos Lugolobi was unopposed. It’s now clear that Ms. Nalubwama Agatha will be battling with the Incumbent Hon. Idah Nantaba Erios in the general elections, Hon. Matovu Swalik will be battling with one from the National Unity Platform either Katongole Denis a.k.a Omutongole who’s a Beat FM radio presenter, Maiteki Ronald or Tebandeke Charles, and other independent candidates like Juliet Nalunga a former Woman Member Of Parliament aspirant.
