KCCA FC defender John Revita has been undertaken through successful surgery on his knee after about five months since getting injured.
The former Express FC player picked up the deadly injury against URA FC in January when KCCA FC was losing 2-1 against Sam Ssimbwa’s charges.
As a result, he was ruled out for the rest of the season after the club’s doctors recommended he undergoes an operation to repair the damage.
John Revita has now received medical attention and the healing process has begun.
“Just in, John Revita has undergone successful knee surgery and he is doing fine. Quick recovery, John,” KCCA FC communicated through their official social media outlets.
John Revita was part of Cranes team
By the time of his injury, John Revita was part of the Johnathan McKinstry team that qualified for the Africa Nations Championship (Chan).
However, the injury led to his exclusion from the Uganda team that was preparing for the final competition.
But since the competition was postponed, he might have a chance to help the East African nation in the competition if he manages to recover on time.
The new date of Africa’s second-tier competition has not been confirmed yet.
Revita joined KCCA FC from rivals Express FC at the start of the 2019/2020 season.
He came in to replace captain Timothy Awany, who left the club to join Israel Premier League side Ashdod FC.
KCCA’s options as John Revita’s replacement
KCCA FC have several options in defence who can work as Revita’s replacement as he recovers.
These include Peter Magambo, Hassan Musana, Filbert Obenchan, Musa Ramathan, and Samuel Kato.
Musa Ramathan and Samuel Kato have had a successful debut season at the club after playing in centre-back in competitive matches.
KCCA FC finished second in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League with 50 points from 25 games played.
