Ruth Aceng is a politician and pediatrician from Uganda. She was born on the 11th of May 1968. In addition, the 52-year-old is the Minister of Health within the Cabinet of Uganda. Aceng was given powers of being a Minister on the 6th of June 2016. However, before she became a minister, she served as the Director-General for Medical Services in the Ministry of Health.

Health Minister Jane Ruth Aceng went to Shimoni Primary School in Kampala for her primary education. She then joined Nabisunsa Girls Secondary School for both her O&A Level education. Aceng then joined Makerere University where she acquired a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.

In addition, to a Master of Medicine in Pediatrics and a Master of Public Health. However, she acquired all these from the Makerere University College of Health Sciences. Jane Ruth Aceng holds a diploma in Health Systems Management from the Galilee International Management Institute located in Israel.

Health Minister Jane Ruth Aceng began her career as a medical officer in the Ministry of Health. In addition, she was appointed as the Director-General of Medical Services at that time. Aceng was also serving as an executive director of Lira Regional Referral Hospital.
