Summary: Western Uganda’s popular Radio Presenter ‘Kazimoto’ Commits Suicide at Min. Frank Tumwebaze’s Radio Station in Kamwenge district as a result of depression.
A famous Western Uganda radio presenter Bernard Tumuhimbise alias ‘Kazimoto’ was on Saturday found dead behind the premises of Nyumbani FM in Rwamwanja, Kamwenge District.
Kazimoto committed suicide, according to the officials of the station which is owned by Gender Minister Frank Tumwebaze.
The presenter’s death is allegedly linked to depression which lacked quick life rehabilitation.
A close friend to the deceased revealed that Kazimoto’s woes began immediately when he lost his wife 3 years back.
The situation forced the popularly waves host to resort to heavy alcohol which led fired from Rwenzori FM in Ibanda.
“He became widely depressed and resorted to alcohol,” said added.
“We are saddened for the loss of our worker Tumuhimbise Bernard (Kazimoto) aka Mwine Ryinya.
“He has been co-presenting in our Evening Program “Omusharuro” Monday to Friday…. 06PM – 10PM.As media fraternity we have lost a senior Presenter who has been hard Working.Details to follow – #RIPKAZIMOTO,” Nyumbani FM mentioned on its Social Media Page.
Minister Tumwebaze confirmed the death of his employee. however, Tumwebaze refuted rumours that he had hung himself at his village farm.
Kazimoto made a name by hosting political talk-shows on radios in Western Uganda like Endigyito FM in Mbarara, Rwenzori FM which shifted base to Ibanda and also Nyumbani.
He previously worked with Rwenzori FM, WEBS FM and Voice of Kamwenge.
The deceased’s body was picked by for postmortem as burial arrangements are underway.
