Today’s morning, Haiti President Jovenel Moise was assassinated by armed men at his home while his wife survived with injuries.
The unfortunate news was announced by the interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph who asked the population to stay calm as they dig into the matter and find the perfect way to resolve the issue
Currently, since the country’s president is no more, Prime Minister Claude Joseph has stepped into office as the country’s head of state during the state of emergency the country is undergoing.
Whereas the president’s wife is undergoing treatment due to injuries she sustained, the Prime Minister promises peace and safety of the civilians since both the Police and the Army are working tooth and nail to ensure of it.
“The president was assassinated at his home by foreigners who spoke English and Spanish,” Joseph went on to inform while giving more information about what happened to the formerly reigning head of state.
President Jovenel Moise has been leading Haiti America’s poorest country on his own terms after the elections that were meant to be held in 2018 resulting from the various disputes the country was faced with.

Apart from the never-ending disputes the country has also been challenged with issues such as kidnaps for ransoms as well as increasing numbers of armed gangs within the confines of the country.
Additionally, the nation is subject to Chronic poverty which has affected most of her population as well as recurrent natural disasters which the country has been faced with the recent years.
