Forum for Democratic Change’s Doreen Nyanjura has been unanimously been reappointed as Kampala city Deputy Lord Mayor.
The Makerere University counselor who once served as deputy Lord Mayor was put before the council during its second sitting today’s morning at City Hall by the Kampala city Lord Mayor-elect Eria Lukwago.
Her first holding of this place in the council was last towards the end of there term last year to replace Sarah Kanyike that had been appointed as State Ministry specifically to deal with the Elderly persons.
Nyanjura is a degree holder in Tourism as she graduated from Makerere University. While at the university, she was part of the University Council and was also the Secretary for Investment in the Forum for Democratic Change party.
Following her presentation to the council by Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago, Doreen Nyanjura was unanimously chosen to deputize the Lord Mayor by a group of councillors during their second sitting today’s morning.
When asked to describe Doreen Nyanjura, Kawempe South councillor Julius Kateregga only had words of praise to say.

According to him, Nyanjura is an able leader, an activist who always fronts social justice at all times and these are the attributes meant to be exhibited by someone that will serve as a Deputy Lord Mayor in the council.
Kampala Central II councillor Moses Kattabu also seconded Doreen Nyanjura because in his view, she is a person that affiliates herself with common people and she really is a hard working person.
