Miya equalised for Konyaspor in the 20th minute after Edin Visca opened the scoring for the visitors in the third minute.
Eight minutes after, Omer Sahiner fired the Anatolian Eagle ahead before Farouk Miya grabbed his second goal of the night to make it 3-1 in first-half stoppage time.
After the restart, Demba Ba reduced the deficit for Basaksehir in the 70th minute and Eljero Elia drew them level seven minutes later.
Konyaspor’s big win
It was a nervy finish to the encounter as Nejc Skubic’s 85th-minute winning goal ended the visitors’ six-game unbeaten run in the Turkish top-flight.
Farouk Miya was in action for 74 minutes before he was replaced by Selim Ay.
Farouk Miya has been impressive in his debut campaign in Turkey, scoring eight goals in 24 league outings.
He will shift his focus to Saturday’s league outing against Trabzonspor as his side aim to avoid relegation.
Who is Farouk Miya?
The midfielder was born on 26 November 1997. He plays as an attacking midfielder for Turkish club Konyaspor and the Uganda national football team.
He kicked off his career in 2013 at Vipers where he played for three years until 2016.
In January 2016, it was announced that Miya would be joining Belgian top flight club, Standard Liège for a fee of US$400,000.
On 31 January 2017, Miya was loaned to Royal Excel Mouscron until the end of the season.
In February 2018, Miya was loaned to Səbail FK, returning at the end of the 2017–18 season.
On 20 August 2019, Miya signed a three-year contract with Süper Lig side Konyaspor.
He made his debut on five days later against Galatasaray at Türk Telekom Stadium.
Farouk Miya started playing for Uganda Cranes in 2014 and since then, he played 64 games and scored 22 times.
