Farouk Miya – I am ready to give out my best to Konyaspor. Uganda Cranes playmaker Farouk Miya claims to give out his best for his club Konyaspor FC.
The former Vipers SC and Standard Liege player has made an impressive start to life at Konyaspor before being interrupted by injury.
He scored five goals in the 19 league games played making him the club’s top scorer this season despite missing some games due to muscle problem.
“I have been working harder and being able to feature well in the Turkish league is because of persistence and believing always in myself,” Miya was quoted saying before adding.
“Other leagues are good but I didn’t get the kind of opportunity to express myself well to the world,” he added.
He missed the club’s last six games since suffering a muscle strain in their goalless draw against Antalyaspor in a Turkish Super Lig encounter at the start of February.
In his absentia, Konyaspor has managed only one win, four draws and one loss in the league.
“The injury is not very serious but I had to go through for better results. I am doing well in my rehabilitation and in two weeks I can play games,” Miya noted.
Konyaspor currently lie 14th on the 18-team league with 26 points from 26 games played.
They are a point and two places above the three relegation spots and they have to double their effort if they are to survive relegation.
