The Executive Director, Uganda National Meteorological Authority, Dr. Festus Luboyera has called upon Ugandans mostly farmers to be patient since they are most likely to receive rain in late march.

The Director noted that the dry spell across the country is as a result of the tropical cyclone named IDAI which has been over the Mozambique channel.

“The presence of the tropical cyclone led to the development of a low pressure system around the Mozambique channel which resulted into weakening of south easterly trade wind hence causing dry spell,” Dr. Festus explained.

The Uganda National Meteorological Authority is a body responsible for forecasting weather conditions in the country.

However, the question of whether rain will actually come on such predicated dates remains unanswered but time will prove.
