Fortebet Uganda

Who is MAT TEE?

Mat Tee is a Ugandan social media (digital) influencer, entertainment micro-blogger, Actor/comedian, short playwright, Journalist, and teacher born on 23rd August 1991 in Masaka.

MAT TEE

To be brief about my Education, I hold a diploma in Journalism and Media Studies (DJMS) and a Diploma in Primary Education obtained from Kyambogo University. I am not married to anybody.

Who is your inspiration?

To be sincere I wasn’t inspired, I saw a gap and came to bridge it. All the bloggers and social media influencers were authoritative and unfriendly to their fans/followers. In addition, and many of them were disseminating falsehoods and others biased, so I popped up to fill up the diastema.

If you weren’t famous, what would you be up to right now?

I would be at school imparting knowledge to children.

Which other Social Media Influencers would you collaborate with?

I welcome everybody especially entertainment influencers as long as they have expertise, objectivity, and passion in what we do.

What kind of challenges do you face as a social media influencer?

The most pressing challenge is ignorance of the social media users. Most of them do not know who a blogger is, what an influencer does, for they want you to always be on their side.

Another challenge is writing about your friend especially when the story isn’t in their favor. But as a professional journalist, of course, I don’t entertain conflict of interest.

Additionally, some businessmen and women want to use our platforms to advertise their products at zero cost forgetting that you can’t conduct business without incurring expenses.

What would you like people to remember about you?

Being balanced, objective, entertaining, educative, and friendly.

Do you get used to being a celebrity?

Well, being a celebrity isn’t something so special because today I am a celebrity but I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, so I prefer normalcy although life at times becomes so challenging being that every eye is on you but at the end of the day you have to cope.

How do social media influencers like MAT TEE impact change in the community?

Well, social media influencers are whistleblowers and voices of the voiceless common people. We spot out issues that would have caused enormous problems in the community if not addressed as soon as possible, bring them to light for the authorities to take immediate action.

How have you benefited from being a social media influencer?

Firstly I am so proud that when I speak, the whole Uganda listens and not only Uganda but also the countries out there. I feel gratified when I raise the voice of the voiceless and it’s heard all over.

Secondly, I need no introduction to any Ugandan celebrity and almost the entire Ugandan social media users. This gives me the opportunity to secure some monetary deals in the form of promotions and ads.

Does MAT TEE face cyberbullying, if so how does he deal with it?

Of course, I have been bullied numerous times but I don’t give a damn because in know we grow in different families and social environments. The nature of the environment where you’re brought up affects your entire life.

What do you think made people like what you do?

The 3Fs; Factualness, Fun, and Friendliness.

What’s that one message you would send out to the fans?

I love them beyond explanation because they are the reason I am who I am today. I will never let them down.
