According to Electoral Commission, the Nomination Dates for candidates of the 2021 Parliamentary Elections have been shifted from Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th October 2020, to Thursday 15th and Friday 16th October 2020.
This follows a call by Paliament and various stakeholders to have the nomination dates extended in order to allow candidates who want to change names or align their names through a deed poll without being hindered in the nomination.
“The Electoral Commission has revised the programme for the nomination of candidates for Parliamentary Elections 2021, from Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th October 2020, to Thursday 15th and Friday 16th October 2020,” Justice Simon Byabakama, the chairperson electoral commission said.
According to the electoral commission press release, the nomination shall be conducted at the respective district and city headquarters across the country.

The nomination exercise will taking place between 9.00am and 5.00pm on each of the appointed dates.
The electoral commission has also urged the aspiring candidates to take note of revised programme and to prepare for the nomination in accordance with the guidelines issued for the exercise.
