Denis Iguma on verge of joining KCCA FC

Uganda Cranes defender Denis Iguma is close to joining StarTimes Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC.

Once the deal is completed, Denis Iguma will become the fourth signing for the Lugogo-based side.

Previously, they signed Charles Lwanga from SC Villa, Ashraf Mugume and Stefano Mazengo.

Denis Iguma to sign a two-year contract deal

According to a sources close to the defender, Iguma will join KCCA with a deal that will keep him for two seasons.

“True, we agreed on a deal for Iguma and he successfully passed medical tests,” the source was quoted by Kawowo Sports.

The defender, who last featured for Bekaa Sports Club in Lebanon will re-unite with coach Mike Mutebi.

Denis Iguma and Mike Mutebi fell out during his spell at SC Villa in 2012.

The two disagreed over tactics with Mutebi opting to let the club sell Iguma, their most prized asset then to SC Victoria University.

Who is Denis Iguma?

Denis Iguma was born on February 10th 1994 in Kalangala district meaning that he is 26 years old.

In Uganda, he played for SC Villa and SC Victoria University before joining Al-Ahed SC.

In January 2014, coach Milutin Sedrojevic, invited him to be a part of the Uganda national football team squad for the 2014 African Nations Championship.

The team placed third in the group stage of the competition after beating Burkina Faso, drawing with Zimbabwe and losing to Morocco.

Iguma will join the likes of Ashraf Mugume, Charles Lwanga, Loro Mazzengo who have already penned deals at Lugogo.

The club is also expected to sign Andrew Samson Kigozi (Police), Brian Aheebwa (Mbarara City), Pius Obuya (Maroons) and Isma Mugulusi (Busoga United).

KCCA is trying to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2020/2021 season as they will represent Uganda in the Caf Confederation Cup.
