COVID-19 Update – Uganda’s COVID-19 death toll has risen to 60 after the ministry of recording two more deaths today.
According to the ministry of health, the two fatalities are from Soroti and Mbale.
The ministry of health has also confirmed 143 new coronavirus cases. These include 135 were contacts, and Alerts, and eight returnees.
This brings the country’s cumulative confirmed coronavirus cases to 5,266.
Kampala had 66 cases of coronavirus that were registered today. The other cases were from Buikwe (15), Lira (14), Mbale (7), Tororo (7), Soroti (5), Bundibugyo (3), Buvuma (3), Kiryandongo (8), Wakiso (2), Arua (1), Masaka (3) and Zombo (1).
Of the eight returnees that tested positive for coronavirus, four were from Oman while India, Senegal, UK, and Ethiopia had one each.
The results were from the 2,849 samples that were tested today of which 2,606 were from contacts, and alerts.

Meanwhile, Uganda’s cumulative recoveries from coronavirus are now 2,404 according to the ministry of health.
At almost 30 million coronavirus cases, 21,598,110 recoveries and 940,374 fatalities have been registered around the world.
