COVID-19 Death Toll Reaches 26 as Confirmed Cases Rise by 98. Uganda has registered 98 new cases of COVID-19 bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 2,524.
The cases are; 92 contacts and alerts, three truck drivers, two returnees, and a health worker from Adjumani.
These are from the 1,667 samples from points of entry and 2,565 samples from contacts and alerts.
Kampala has 65 of today’s confirmed cases while the remaining are from Moroto (8), Wakiso (6), Mbale (4), Gulu (3) and Adjumani (2). Arua, Kotido, Pader, and Moroto had one case each.
The two returnees were from South Sudan and South Africa While two of the truck drivers were from Mpondwe and the other from Malaba border point of entry.
Uganda also recorded one coronavirus death, a 27 year old male Ugandan, a resident of Mengo, Kampala.
Two Kenyan truck drivers and a Tanzanian truck driver were denied entry into the country after testing positive for the virus.

Currently, the country has 1,268 coronavirus recoveries and COVID-19 death toll stands at 26.
The government has continued advising the public regarding COVID-19 prevention measures such as wearing masks and keeping social distance following the spike coronavirus community transmissions.
