Coronavirus Death Toll Reaches 33 as 176 Test Positive

The ministry of health has today registered 176 COVID-19 cases bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 3,288. Meanwhile, the sad news is that the coronavirus death Toll has also reached 33.

These cases include 120 contacts, 52 alerts, two truck drivers, and two health workers from Kampala and Jinja.

Manafwa had 70 of the 172 contacts and alerts that tested positive for COVID-19. The other cases are from Kampala(39), Kikuube(17), Buikwe(13), Mbale(10), Moroto(9), Mukono(5), Hioma (2), Tororo (2). For Buvuma, Kyenjojo, Mbarara, and Wakiso, they reported one case each.

The two truck drivers that tested positive for coronavirus at the different points of entry were from Busia and Malaba border point.

The ministry of health also registered a coronavirus death, 40 year old male Ugandan. This brings the country’s cumulative fatalities to the virus to 33.

Two Kenyans, a Congolese, and a Rwandese are among the four foreign truck drivers were denied entry when they tested positive for coronavirus at the different border points of entry.

These results are from the 5453 total samples that were tested today by the ministry of health of the 391,335 samples that have been tested to-date since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak.

Meanwhile, 1,532 recoveries haven’t been recorded by the ministry of health.
