Chelsea will delay their contract talks with Thibaut Courtois until after their games against Barcelona and Leicester
The Belgian goalkeeper was expected to hold talks with the Blues during February amid interest in him from Real Madrid but no discussions have taken place with just one day of the month left.
Courtois’ contract runs out in the summer of 2019. Chelsea are planning to pay him more than £200,000-a-week to stay at Stamford Bridge.
If Antonio Conte’s side cannot renew Courtois’ deal, they risk losing him to Real this summer. The Spanish giants are keen to table a bid for the goalkeeper.
There are few concerns over the delay, with both Chelsea and Courtois in agreement that negotiations should not take place with key games ahead.
After a difficult campaign, Chelsea only have two chances left of picking up silverware this season.
