Cabinet advises Museveni to extend lockdown for another 14 days

The Cabinet sub Committee has advised President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to extend lockdown for another 14 days. This is because of the arising COVID-19 cases in different communities within Uganda.

This follows after two new COVID-19 cases from the community tested positive of the deadly virus. A resident of Rakai district who had just returned from Tanzania and a police officer from Bunyoro.

Therefore during the special Cabinet Subcommittee meeting on Saturday, they were forced to recommend an extension of the lockdown for another 14 days.

In addition, this will be able to allow them to carry out a good community testing survey.
