National Unity Platform former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has crossed the two million followers mark on Facebook.
The popstar turned politician becomes the first Ugandan to make surpass 2 million followers on the social media site and therefore the most followed Ugandan on Face.
The increase in followers of Robert Kyagulanyi’s on Facebook comes at a time when the National Unity Platform Party leader call for peaceful demonstrations as he contests against the results of the recently concluded presidential election.
“As we promised when we withdrew the Election Petition from the Supreme Court, we are bringing this matter to the People of Uganda! As always, the regime is desperately trying to claim that we are planning violent protests,” Kyagulanyi said.
“NO. We are calling upon all of you citizens of good will to demonstrate peacefully and unarmed, a right guaranteed by Article 29 of the Constitution,” Robert Kyagulanyi said.
Robert Kyagulanyi announced that he was calling for protests on four grounds; Claims that he won the election by 54.19% thereby calling for an independent audit of the election, stopping the ongoing abductions, Releasing all political prisoners and stopping the trial of civilians in military courts.
