News reaching our news desk confirms Justice Bart Magunda Katureebe has today officially retired as Uganda’s chief justice. In addition, he was in office for a period of about 5 years of service. He was appointed as chief justice in March 2015, replacing Benjamin Odoki.

According to an appreciation letter to stakeholders on Friday, Bart Katureebe confirmed he is retiring from the judicial service as Chief Justice of Uganda on 20th June 2020.

Who is Bart Magunda Katureebe?

Katureebe is a Ugandan Judge and a former Chief Justice of Uganda. He was however the Justice of the Supreme Court of Uganda before acting as the Chief Justice. Bart Katureebe was born on the 20th of June in the year 1950 in Rugazi village, Rubirizi District in western Uganda. In addition, to Yowana Magunda and Virginia Ngonzi. Bart Magunda Katureebe attended Rugazi Primary School for his primary education from the year 1957 to 1962. He later went to St.Joseph Junior Secondary School in Mbarara from 1963 to 1964.
