Wakiso Giants FC head coach Douglas Bamweyana claims that their 1-0 win against Mbarara City FC was crucial for them.

The Purple Sharks edged Mbarara City at Kakyeka on Friday evening thanks to a debut goal by Kipson Atuheire.

This was Wakiso’s maiden win in the 2020/2021 season in the league from six games and according to Bamweyana, the win will give the team a belief.

“It was a tough game and I thank the boys for the fight,” Douglas Bamweyana said.

“We needed this and hopefully this kick starts our campaign in terms of getting more wins,” he added.

The coach and his boys will hope to build on that important victory when we host SC Villa on Wednesday at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, Wakiso.

“The win is crucial as it now gives the players belief that we can win games after failing on five previous attempts when we deserved,” he noted.

Friday’s win moved Wakiso Giants to 11th position with eight points from six games played so far.
