Uganda Cranes and close associates with heavy hearts bid farewell to the long-time player, midfielder, assistant team captain, and enthusiastic Hassan Wasswa after he wrote down his resignation to his thirteen-year home.
Team Captain Denis Onyango congratulated fellow football star upon an early resignation as well as his tremendous contribution to the National team.
“I would like to personally congratulate you on your retirement from international football, while you will be missed by all of us, you certainly deserved to bow out with honor, your hard work and diligence have greatly benefited the Cranes over the thirteen years” read Onyango’s statement.
Even recently boiling with anger FUFA president Magogo could not help but shower down the football star for the thirteen years impact he had on the Uganda cranes
“Thirteen years with 75 caps at the senior level has earned Hassan Wasswa a testimonial match organized by FUFA at an appropriate time, he will determine the Line-Ups and what the collections of the match will be used in accordance to his decision” noted Magogo.
These follow the untimely and unexpected resignation of Hassan Wasswa which he sadly announced as his letter partly read;
“With much sadness but without regret, I realize that I am no longer able to adhere to the unwavering standard of excellence that professional football demands. I say this with a heavy heart: I am retiring from the National team” Part of the statement reads
