Ugandans Turn to VPNs as social media becomes inaccessible ahead of Thursday Elections

Many Ugandans are turning to virtual Private Networks (VPN) following the internet slowdown on Tuesday as the country gears up for the paliamentary and presidential elections on Thursday. Social media platforms have also became inaccessible even after paying the infamous Social media Tax.

Those trying to access social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter have resorted to using VPNs.

Others are however, finding difficulty in finding these VPNS. Earlier today, TV presenter Sheila Nduhukile, inquired on which Which VPN she could use for IOS.

However, Mathias Ssemanda of Top Bloggers Uganda warned people about the credibility of some VPNs.

“I warn you that some VPNs steal data including credit card details, passwords and alike. A VPN with at least 500K+ downloads is tested, trusted and secure,” he tweeted.
