Uganda Cranes has named a 20 man squad a head of the 2021 AFCON were Uganda Cranes will host South Sudan on 9th November before going for the a way leg on 17th November.
The list consists of foreign based players who will be joined by the home based players from the Uganda Premier league following their fitness assessment by the Uganda Cranes technical staff.
This was revealed by the Uganda Cranes Head Coach, Johnathan McKinstry, during a press conference at FUFA house in Mengo on Thursday morning.
The 20 man squad has Dennis Onyango of Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa and Magoola Jamal Salim of Al Hilal Omdruman in Sudan as goal keepers.
The defenders are Ronald Mukiibi who plays for Ostersunds FK, Sweden, Nico Wakiro Wadada – Azam FC, Tanzania, Timothy Denis Awany – Sport Club Ironi Ashdod, Israel, Joseph Ochaya – TP Mazembe, Democratic Republic of Congo, Alex Kakuba – CD Cova Piedade, Portugal and Elvis Bwomono – Southend United, England.
Among the Midfielders, McKinstry has named Michael Azira of Chicago Fire, USA, Khalid Aucho of Misr Lel Makasa, Egypt, Allan Kyambadde of El Gouna, Egypt, and Allan Okello of Paradou, Algeria.
Farouk Miya, who plays for Konyaspor in Turkey will be joined by other Forwards like Derrick Nsibambi of Smouha in Egypt, Emmanuel Okwi of Ittihad Alexandria, Egypt, Alexis Bbakka of UMEA, Sweden, Fahad Bayo of Ironi Ashdod in Israel, William Kizito Luwagga of Hapoel, Israel, Uche Ikpeazu of Wycombe Wanderers, England, and Edirisa Lubega of Paide Linnameeskond of Estonia.
