Muntu, Tumukunde Condemn Bobi Wine Arrests, Call for His Release

The Alliance for National Transformation presidential candidate Mugisha Muntu and independent Presidential Candidate Henry Tumukunde have condemned the arrest of the fellow presidential candidate, Robert Kyagulanyi of the National Unity Platform alias Bobi Wine. In addition who was arrested in Luuka on Wednesday Morning ahead of his rally. They also called for his immediate release.

Mugisha Muntu said the coutiuned harassment of the Kyadondo East legislature could draw the country towards a breaking point.

“The impunity with which security operatives are operating in the continued harassment and now arrest of Hon. Kyagulanyi is leading this country closer towards a breaking point,” he said.

“We join NUP ( National Unity Platform) and all fair-minded Ugandans in calling upon his immediate release,” he added.

The former security chief, Henry Tumukunde said; “We are at a turning point in the history of our country but the manner in which authorities are operating shows blatant disregard of the current state of affairs.

“We join other political leaders to unequivocally call for the immediate release of National Unity Platform Presidential candidate Bobi Wine,” he added.

Many Uganda’s have come up to demand the release of Robert Kyagulanyi since his arrest and detention for reportedly defying the Electoral commission guidelines on scientific campaigns. This has led to widespread protests in various towns around the country including the country’s capital, Kampla.
