Uganda’s betting giant, Fortebet, has continued to show its commitment to helping Ugandans live a better life. For this reason, Fortebet has committed 15 million shillings in the fight against life-threatening sickle cell disease.
Fortebet is making this donation for the second year in a row.
This money was handed over to Raising Hope International Friends (RHIF), an organisation that is working with the government of Uganda in fighting scourge.
Fortebet’s Executive Manager, Benard Rwakihembo handed over a cheque of 10 million last week.The money will be used to support The 2021 Kamuli Sickle Cell Walk/Gala which will be held end of this month.
An additional 5 million will be handed over to the Sickle Cell clinic.
“According to the available information,20,000 babies are born with sickle cell annually. Unfortunately, due to inadequate treatment and care, 80% of them die before Their fifth birthday.
